Filipino Artist Amangpintor Brings Indigenouism Art to Greece for Culture, Unity, and Environmental Advocacy
|
Athens, Greece — July 26, 2025 — Filipino folk artist Elito Circa, internationally known as Amangpintor, began his Visiting Artist tour in Europe with the First Free Spirit Art through Indigenouism Art Workshop in Greece. The tour carries a clear mission: to promote Indigenouism Art for environmental conservation and mental wellness, to unite the Filipino community while remembering the Filipino identity, culture, and values, and to sustain the Amangpintor Art Charity advocacy through sponsors’ donations. The opening workshop drew participants from diverse backgrounds, engaging them in hands-on activities that honored cultural heritage and nature-inspired creativity. Using his distinctive Indigenouism Art style, Amangpintor emphasized the importance of preserving the environment through traditional and organic materials, inspiring attendees to merge heritage with modern artistic expression. Later that day, he delighted audiences with a Couples for Christ hand painting demonstration show, blending artistry and faith in a live performance. His expressive strokes and symbolic imagery reflected not only personal spirituality but also the shared values of unity and service, marking a heartfelt start to his European journey where creativity and advocacy flow together seamlessly.
On July 27, Amangpintor conducted the second workshop, emphasizing art’s role in environmental awareness and mental wellness while reconnecting Filipinos abroad with their roots. In early August, the Fourth Free Spirit Art through Indigenouism Art Workshop on August 3 and the Fifth Workshop, 2nd batch, on August 4, continued to draw participants eager to learn his heritage-inspired techniques. On August 4, he also performed at the Yahweh Event Athens Greece. On August 6, he met with Dina Korontzi, President 2025-26 of the Rotary Club of Pallini, and Tassos Ballas, President 2024-25 of the Rotary Club of Athinai Hillas and CEO of Ballas Advertising Solutions and Gifts, to discuss sponsorships and collaborations for future projects. Later that day, he visited the Philippine Embassy in Greece and met with H.E. Giovanni E. Palec, Philippine Ambassador to Greece, together with Jesusa and Fe Dumaguit, Cultural Officers, to explore future cultural initiatives.
Amangpintor also extended gratitude to the priests and bishop of various churches in Athens, especially at St. Denis Cathedral, thanking Fr. Giorgos Dagas for warm accommodation, time, and the opportunity to serve the parish, as well as Fr. John and Fr. Marios Atalla for their companionship. He also thanked his niece Jesusa for organizing the art events and facilitating workshops and shows with children and the Filipino community in Athens. Amid his busy schedule, he explored Greece’s cultural landmarks, drawing inspiration from museums, sacred sites, and artisan hubs. These experiences are expected to influence his future works, blending Filipino folk art with classical Greek influences. Through this tour, Amangpintor continues to show that art can transcend borders, foster unity, and carry a message of cultural pride, environmental respect, and charitable advocacy.
